Line Stopping  Definition:

A line stop is the  installation of a temporary isolation point or point(s) similar to the function of a valve in a line where one presently does not exist or operate. It is utilized  to temporarily stop flow in a section of the pipe so as to allow for alteration and additional work to be carried out at the downstream of the pipeline, without stopping or purging the system.
